Rules and Conditions

Welcome to Seriti! We trust that it will be an unforgettable stay.

INDEMNITY

The proprietor takes no responsibility for any casualties, which may occur. You are during your stay responsible for your own safety and that of your group. You are also responsible for the safety of all personal belongings. Keep rooms locked.

DAMAGE TO TERRAIN
You are responsible for any damage caused by any member of your group to the property and equipment. Please don’t litter.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING RULES:

  • No campers will be allowed on beds without bedding.
  • Keep noise levels down. Please use sound systems indoors.
  • No fire wood may be gathered. Fire wood, briquettes, can be purchased.
  • Fires may only be made at the designated braai areas at lapas.
  • No candles or burning objects in thatched buildings. No smoking in rooms.
  • Mattresses or beds may not be removed from the rooms.

MANAGER
Report any problems to the manager.

WATER
Please note that Seriti is dependant on a borehole for your water. As Water is a scarce resource in South Africa please use sparingly and close taps after use. Our water is tested safe for drinking and is also filtered on site for clarity. Water clarity may vary depending on factors outside of our control (ESKOM) Please report any water related issues to the camp manager immediately.

High water usage may lead to a brown hue (discolouration) of the water which is still safe for use. SERITI has no control over this and cannot mitigate or resolve this issue immediately (As the tanks fill up and water use slows down water are filtered to clarity again).

ELECTRICITY
Please note that Seriti is dependant on ESKOM for its electricity. Although we do not experience load shedding unforseen circumstances may lead to power interruptions (CABLE THEFT). Please ensure that you bring your own light sources (Flashlights). Camp Seriti will address any electricity issues as soon as possible and provide feedback or alternatives. Also note that this may affect the availability of water as Seriti is dependant on ground water being pumped and filtered in tanks.

SWIMMING

Arrange for sufficient supervision during any swimming session. No swimming is allowed without proper adult supervision from your group. You know your group best to know who cannot swim. Diving into swimming dam is dangerous and prohibited.

ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
The area is ecologically sensitive. Under no circumstances may flowers be picked, plants removed, or branches be broken off. Please do not litter while hiking, picnicking or swimming. Don’t scare the game.

FIRE HAZARD
Veld fires are always an imminent danger. Veld fires are seldom controlled in this area and once started pose a threat to a very large stretch of land.

Cell phones usually receive a signal on the terrain.
